Settings & Tools

In your WordPress Dashboard, you can access the settings of Elementor.

You just have to go to “Elementor” in your WP Dashboard and to hover over the “Elementor” tab or to click on it to get in the settings of the plugin.

In the settings of Elementor, you have a few options that will help you solve issues linked to Elementor, and also information about your system.

Settings

  • General

Post Types: Choose where Elementor can be used. Elementor can be used in Posts and in Pages only. You cannot use Elementor to edit footers or headers.

Exclude Roles: This option allows you to decide who will be able to edit pages or posts with Elementor. It is convenient if you do not want anyone or some specific persons to modify your changes in Elementor.

Disable Global Colors: Choose whether to use your theme’s color settings or let Elementor control it.

Disable Global Fonts: Choose whether to use your theme’s typography settings or let Elementor control it.

Improve Elementor: By enabling this, you will help us learn about the way you are using Elementor and it will help us to improve Elementor and our support.

  • Style

Default Generic Fonts: Choose a default fallback font. 

Content Width: Set a default width to your content area.

Space Between Widgets: Set the space between widgets.

Stretched Section Fit to: Choose the parent element to which stretched elements will fit.

Page Title Selector: If you want to be able to hide your page title in Elementor, here you can set the selector.

  • Integrations

reCAPTCHA: To use this service of Google, you need to create an account via the link provided there. This option protects you from spam and abuse. If you experience any problem with this feature you need to contact Google via your reCAPTCHA account.

  • Advanced

CSS Print Method: Choose whether you CSS will be included in an independent stylesheet (recommended) or on each page.

Switched Editor Loader Method: In cases of server configuration conflicts, enable this option.

My library

In My Library, you will find the templates that you created. The Predesigned Templates can be found by clicking on the icon folder in your Elementor Panel.

You can also import and export files via My Library as explained in this  guide.

Templates files are saved as .json files. 

Tools 

  • General

    Regenerate CSS: 

    It will clear your CSS files and will generate new files when you make changes on your pages or when you simply visit the pages from the front-end. It depends on what you will do first. Please note that the Regenerate CSS tool will not regenerate the files on the click on the button



    Sync Library: When you experience some bugs with the library, you can sync it and check if it helps. 

  • Replace URL

    This option allows you to be able to use Elementor after that you transfer your domain (Also relevant for adding an SSL certificate to your site).
  • Versions

    Rollback Version: Switch to a previous version of Elementor.

    Rollback Pro Version: Switch to a previous version of Elementor Pro.

    Become a Beta Tester: By enabling this, you will be notified whenever a new beta version is out.

  • Maintenance Mode

    Choose Mode: Choose between Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode.

    Who Can Access: Choose who can see your content when one of these modes is active.

    Choose Template: Choose a template that will be displayed when one of these modes is active.

Systems info

This option is important given that we sometimes need this information to assist you when you experience a bug. The systems info includes information about your Server and your WordPress environment. The systems info can be copied and pasted in a mail or downloaded as a .txt file that can be attached to an email.

How to Install Elementor Page Builder

In this guide, we will explain how to install Elementor Page Builder for WordPress.
It’s quite easy. In no time you’ll be able to start designing and building your own beautiful web pages.

1. Add the Plugin

Go to the Plugins page and click on the Add New button. In the search bar enter ‘Elementor’ and then click to install. Once it’s installed, click on the Activate Plugin button.

You can also download Elementor directly from  elementor.com or wordpress.org/plugins/elementor and click on the download button. You will receive a .zip file with the plugin.

2. Settings

Go to Elementor settings.
Here you can set which post types will use Elementor, as well as which users could use it and the default font it will get if the chosen font is not available.

3. Start Working With Elementor

Go to Pages, add a new page and give it a name.
Then click on the “Edit with Elementor” button and you are ready to go!

What is Elementor?

Elementor is a visual page builder that lets you design your website pages in a live, visual way. This means you can create your homepage, landing pages, blog posts, and all other site pages and posts in the easiest way possible. 

Before we get started, we recommend you watch this short 2-min video intro, showing you the building blocks of the Elementor editor.

1. Accessing the editor

To start working with Elementor, go to the WordPress dashboard.

Then, add a new page by clicking on Pages > Add New.

Then, click on the ‘Edit with Elementor’ button.

 

2. Elementor UI: Getting to know the interface

The Elementor page builder includes these main areas:


1. Panel (Top): Use the search field to find a widget.

2. Widgets / Widget Settings: Choose a widget and configure it.

3. Preview Button: Enables you to preview the page. Once clicked it hides/shows the panel.

4. Panel (Bottom): View page, Go back to Dashboard or Save page.

5. Content Area: Drag & drop widgets and design your page.

6. Add New Section / Add Template: Choose between creating a new section or inserting an existing template.

3. Creating your first section

A section is the most basic element that you can work with.

It’s the building block of every page. A section can be set as full width and spread all over the screen, or receive the content area width (by default).

After you create a section you can drag and drop a widget inside. You can also divide each section to few columns. Every page you create can contain as many sections as you want. You can drag a section above or under another one to relocate it.

1. Add New Section: Click this button to create a new section or simply drag a widget from the panel and drop it in the content area.
2. Select Yout Structure: Choose a structure for your section (Later, you can edit the exact width of every column).

You can edit, duplicate or delete a section. You can also save it as a template or add a new section above.

4. Choosing a pre-made template

Click on the ‘Add template’ button to launch the Template Library and insert one of our pre-designed templates or one of your own.

5. Adding columns to sections

Every section includes one or more columns. You are able to insert your content into each column.

You can easily arrange and order the columns, simply by dragging and dropping them.

You can edit, duplicate,

add or delete a column. You can also drag & drop it anywhere on your page. Resize Column: Drag right & left to change the width of your columns.

6. Inserting a widget

Click the content to edit, duplicate or delete a widget. You can also save it as a Global Widget. Add Widget: Drag a widget from the left panel and drop it into a column.

1. To edit a widget, click the pencil icon.
2. On the Panel header, you can choose to edit the widget’s content and style.
3. Every widget has a different setting.
4. You can save your current changes at any stage.
5. When you have finished designing, click the ‘X’ button at the bottom panel and view the page.

7. Making your page mobile responsive

1. To view how the page looks like on different devices, click on the Responsive Mode button, in the footer.
2.Choose between the different devices.

8. Customizing widget style settings

This tutorial will go over the style options for sections and columns. You will learn how to change that background color of sections, set image and video backgrounds, set background overlays, border and box shadow. You also get a lot of options to style your columns

9. Customizing advanced settings for Section & Column

In this tutorial, we’ll walk through the advanced settings. The advanced tab saves you from adding CSS code to change the layout of the page.
